The NHS is struggling to cope with the influx of patients suffering from Covid or the flu and most MPs constantly blame the recent Covid epidemic for this with only a few of them owning up to the truth, which is a constant underfunding spread over many years.
I have said many times that if there was no private health care then the NHS would be properly funded, and fast.
It’s funny the things you remember as you get older. Billy Thomas worked next to me on a Bridgeport milling machine when I was an apprentice at BIP tools, he had strong views in favor of communism but only because he thought everyone should be equal. It was a nice idea but I wonder if he would think differently now with the carnage that is happening in Ukraine.
It’s unlikely that he would still be alive now as he would be close to one hundred.
Allen Ranking worked on the other side of me and was renowned for having a fiery temper, no one spoke to him when he first walked into the factory in the mornings, and when it was his fortieth birthday no one wished him a happy birthday as he hated the idea of getting old.
When you cut steel with a milling cutter it gives off a certain acrid smell and if you drill a hole right through a block of steel you learned to sense when you are about to break through the other side. If you have never worked in a factory you will have no idea what I am talking about.
Now I am nearly eighty-one I sometimes have no idea what I am talking about.
